John F. Smith III
After 42 years of on-air weather reporting, I recently retired as Chief Meteorologist for NBC10 in Philadelphia. Now, I am dedicating my time to educating and communicating the impacts of climate change. Some of my work so far has included testifying to Pennsylvania State House and Philadelphia City Council on climate change and its impacts, working with ARKF, an environmental engineering firm, and numerous blogs and public speaking events focusing on the
extreme weather/climate change connection. Click below to read more about my work as a CCC.
My time at NBC10 made me famous not only for stunning meteorology skills and forecasting but also for fashion! With a contract specifying that I wear bow ties, my collection over the years has grown to a whopping 200+ bow ties.
These Seinfeld themed ads were a real hit back in the day. Who knows, maybe I could've made it in Hollywood too.
